Don't clean the firebox.
If you don't already have some ashes in your fireplace, you may want to burn one last fire to create some. Those spent ashes and log bits will make your new log set look more natural. (Be sure the fire is out and ashes cool.)
Pay attention to placement.
It is common for people to place their new log set out toward the front of the fireplace. Placing it further back often creates a much more realistic effect. We suggest placing the log set in the center of the firebox, then playing with the positioning until you get the effect you like.
Place a screen in front of your fireplace.
It looks more authentic (you wouldn't burn a fire without one) and helps create visual depth.
Hide the cord.
There are many creative ways to hide the power cord. One option is to install an outlet in the firebox. Less permanent options include hiding the cord with a small pile of logs, fireplace tools or a vase of dried flowers, the sky's the limit.
Our Comfort Smart Fire Crackler Sound System creates the crackling sounds of a fire. Many of our customers say that adding this simple effect is the missing element that makes their fire effect complete.

How Panel Projection Flame Technology works
Panel projection flame technology creates a realistic looking flame for the electric log set. The life-like display is cast against a solid back panel in order to create a warm glowing flicker which emulates a fire. With panel projection you can recess the electric log set anywhere within the open space of your fireplace and enjoy a beautiful glowing flame with heat that you can turn on or off.
How Rear Projection Flame Technology works
Rear Projection Flame Technology uses high-powered LED lighting to project the flame backwards and upwards toward the rear of your fireplace. This is one of the most realistic flame types available and works best with the electric log set placed deep within your fireplace.
How Revillusion™ Flame Technology works
Revillusion™ Flame Technology is a completely new 3D flame display that utilizes a frosted acrylic mirage flame panel to create a dazzling flame and no reflections. The technology is created using 360 degree lighting with full-depth clear view design that allows you to see through the flame to the back of the masonry. The Revillusion electric log set can be used with or without heat.
How Opti-Myst Projection Flame Technology works
Opti-Myst Flame Technology is a highly-advanced flame projection that creates a visually stunning 3-Dimensional display and utilizes water vapor to create the illusion of a dancing flame with smoke. This makes the Opti-Myst technology one of the most realistic flame projections available.

Traditional fan forced heating warms areas up to 400 square feet and provides supplemental warmth to your room. With the rising cost of gas and oil, the fan forced heating of an electric log set can not only heat your room efficiently, but is also the most affordable type of supplemental heating available. Most of our traditional log sets can be used with or without heat while others like the opti-myst unit produce flame and smoke, but no heat.
